Loving All of Yourself
HoneyBee is my baby! She is a Dogue de Bordeaux and loves apples and treats!
She is full of energy at times and runs around playing catch with her toys. But when she is sleepy, she always sleeps with her tongue sticking out!
Honeybee is soon be a celebrity as she is being cast in my upcoming children’s books, Wild Berry’s Adventures on Candy Co Farms!
Do you want to know what HoneyBee has been up too, check out more in The Berry Sweet Newsletters!
Meet HoneyBee
Weeds and Wildflowers
As I sit and soak in the spring sun I am greeted by the beautiful songs of birds and crows alike.
I haven’t felt sun like this in a while and as it kissed my cheek it begged me to step out to meet it before it was gone.
Scattered between the rock landscaping of my yard are the weeds brought up by the recent rains! They stand tall and proud in the sun with their beautiful yellow faces reaching for the same kiss as mine!
I know they are going to have to go but wander as to who decides if they are weeds or wildflowers that grow!
I am reminded of the beauty of Karma and how each choice, action and decision we make has a reaction. And I wonder who decides if it is weeds or wildflowers?
May you choose to see the beauty that this amazing life provides and may you find a field of wildflowers in every garden of weeds!

I am first and my proudest moments in life are all around being a mother! I am so very grateful to have three amazing daughters who are living in a world of empowerment, authenticity, and an understanding of kindness and inclusion. They are my everything and my drive in this amazing world we have been given.
By being a writer, creative artist, and spiritual friend, I have had the privilege to be given the amazing opportunity to be a promoter of the strength of kindness, authenticity, and the beautiful strength that comes with loving ourselves.
In these creative fields, I have published 100s of videos as CJ Berry on my Wild Berry Candy Co platform. I publish on a diverse set of social media platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X, YouTube, and Clapper.
Growing up in a large family and on a small farm just outside of the little town of Barstow, California I was often drawn to books and stories as a way of finding solitude and adventure.
My younger years were filled with running barefoot through the farm, building forts, and mud castles, riding horses, feeding chickens, geese, and sheep, gardens, and climbing a beautiful mulberry tree that stained our hands and feet purple. It was picturesque on the outside and governed by the strict rules of religion, echoed by the chaos life brings. Life was never easy but adventure was always around the corner.
As an adult life took over and shadows governed the structure of my life. I believe that there are profound moments in each of our lives that guide us as a river ever flowing and changing course as we learn and love.
The first poem I wrote as an adult is Each Step, an Unsure Grasp. I wrote in my young 20s as I struggled with losing myself and balancing being a wife, a mother, my education, and the expectations of this world. I chose this poem to be my first piece published as I eagerly submitted it to the California Writers Club, High Desert Branch just before sending my first book to the editor.
Through my twenties, with my three babies close beside me, I taught young children and worked my way through to earning my AA in Early Childhood Education.
As my girls grew and I started feeling the limitations of having Arnold Chiari Malformation my path shifted. I merged my love of childcare with my need to change how I moved and started working in the school office and quickly went from being the Assistant Secretary of the school site to the Administrative Assistant to the superintendents. Within a few short years, my education went from business to sociology as I discovered my love for people and my deep desire to truly understand who we are.
Throughout my life, I have experienced much loss. The hardest losses to me were my older brother, my older sister, and my grandparents. As I honor them in my work you will find these hidden gems in the symbolic meanings behind butterflies, berries, and the curiosity that leads to seeing the beauty of this wild world around us.
I believe in all things we must take a look at the big picture but we must focus on the next step, the one that is right in front of us. And to tomorrow I say “ I eagerly await you and am ready to take the next step”!
As above, so below. As below so above. What we heal in darkness we grow in the light!

“When it looks like the sun will not shine anymore god put a rainbow in the clouds.
Imagine, and I have had so many rainbows in my clouds, I have had a lot of clouds, but I have had so many rainbows and one of the things I do when I step up on the stage, when I stand up to translate, when I go to teach my classes when I go to direct a movie I bring everyone who has ever been kind to me.
Black, white, Asian, native American, gay straight, everybody I say come with me and we are going on the stage come with me I need you now.
They all did, you see, so I don’t ever feel I have no help. I’ve had rainbows in my clouds and the thing to do it seems to me is to prepare yourself so that you can be a rainbow in somebody else’s cloud.
Somebody who may not look like you, may not call god the same name you call god, if they call god at all you see. They may not eat the same dishes prepared the way you do may not dance your dances or speak your language but be a blessing to somebody.
That’s what I think
